According to news from The Telegraph, Arsenal and Man City are trying to pursue Newcastle United’s star midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.
With Bruno Guimaraes’ £100m release clause, this could be a similar deal to Declan Rice last summer that Arsenal ultimately won.
Guimaraes has been an indispensable player at Newcastle since his arrival in 2022. The Brazilian star’s impressive performance helped him be sought after by many clubs, despite the contract release clause of up to 100 million pounds. Meanwhile, although Newcastle wants to keep Guimaraes, financial problems may force them to let the midfielder leave.
Arsenal’s interest in Guimaraes is understandable, because Thomas Partey’s physical condition is very unstable, in addition to Jorginho’s expiring contract. The Gunners are determined to strengthen their midfield and Guimaraes’ comprehensiveness makes him an ideal target.
Similarly, Man City’s midfield also promises many changes in the summer, when Bernardo Silva is likely to leave, Kevin De Bruyne is no longer fit and his contract will expire in 2025.
