Manchester United paid £44 million to get Andre Onana from Inter Milan to replace David de Gea in 2023. But David James says he’s been “frustrated” with the 28-year-old because he thinks he can do much more.
It is said by David James that Andre Onana has “disappointed” at Manchester United and is not even one of the top six goalkeepers in the Premier League.
James, who used to play goal for England, said that he has been “frustrated” with Onana ever since the Cameroon international joined United from Inter Milan for £43.8 million 14 months ago. United bought Onana because of how well he could distribute and pass the ball with his feet. However, James said that the 28-year-old has not been able to show off that skill since moving to United.
“I’m frustrated with what Onana has brought to the club since he joined from Inter Milan,” he said. “When he signed for Manchester United from Inter, I thought he would completely change the way they play.” I wanted him to be able to play ball and pass the ball well for the team.
No matter what the reason is, Onana hasn’t been his best since joining the club, which is upsetting.
“They wanted a custodian who was quick on his feet and could make precise passes from far away, because that makes the game more interesting.” That’s what Onana can do, but United hasn’t seen it yet.
“Ederson has hit some great balls this season; Onana has that in his locker.” He has every right to do the same thing.”
James told safestcasinosites.co.uk, “You always look at the person first and wonder why they’re not doing well.” Is Erik Ten Hag and his coaching team to blame? When United signed him, he should be doing the things they paid for, so it doesn’t make sense that he’s not.
“I look at how David Raya was signed by Arsenal.” He’s starting to live up to the promise the club saw in him when they signed him, and you could say that Arsenal is the best place for him to be. That’s not true at all for Onana at United.
“Onana isn’t the league’s best goalie.” Right now, I wouldn’t put him in the top six, but I have no doubt he can get there. I want him to get better.
