Novak Djokovic had a hilarious reaction to tennis being played on a unique court. Djokovic also expressed his concerns about his “backhand” if he were to play on that court.

Djokovic most recently participated in the Davis Cup, where he helped Serbia defeat Greece to secure a spot in the tournament’s qualifying round which will be played in 2025.

Recently, a video of French tennis players David Lanclas and Maxence Bertimon playing tennis on a unique tennis court made the rounds on social media. The court was surrounded by trees and had overgrown grass, making it an interesting sight.

Novak Djokovic then re-shared the video on his social media and jokingly commented that the court seemed perfect for forehand shots only. He added that he would never play on these kinds of courts as he needs his backhand shots to play well, which he believes will not be effective on that court.

“POV: Forehand ONLY paradise. P.S. No way I’m playing on this court! I NEED my Backhand 😂 🤣” the Serb captioned his Instagram story.

This season, Novak Djokovic has played in a select few tournaments and has not achieved much success. He competed in all four Grand Slam tournaments and several other tournaments but has failed to win any titles. He was the defending champion at the Australian Open, French Open, and US Open, but was unable to retain his titles in any of these events.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion reached the semifinal in Melbourne before falling to eventual champion Jannik Sinner. He then reached the quarterfinals in Paris but withdrew from the Grand Slam event due to an injury, and then reached the final in Wimbledon where he lost the title to Carlos Alcaraz.

The former World No. 1’s only significant achievement this year was winning the gold medal at the Paris Olympics, defeating Alcaraz in the final.

Novak Djokovic will next compete at the 2024 Shanghai Masters, a tournament where he is making his first appearance in five years. His last participation was in 2019, where he made it to the quarterfinals before being defeated by Stefanos Tsitsipas. The tournament will be played from October 2-13, 2024.

During his career, Djokovic has won the ATP Masters 1000 hard court title in Shanghai four times – in 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2018.

During his title run in 2018, Djokovic kicked off his campaign in the second round after receiving a first-round bye. He started strong by defeating Jeremy Chardy in the opening round and then went on to secure a victory over 16th seed Marco Cecchinato in the third round.

The former World No. 1 then triumphed over seventh seed Kevin Anderson in the quarterfinals and fourth seed Alexander Zverev in the semifinals. He ultimately defeated 13th seed Borna Coric in the final to secure the 2018 Shanghai Masters title.
