After the Ravens’ 41-38 OT victory over the Bengals, QB Lamar Jackson shared a moment he had with a trash talker prior to the game.
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is no stranger to receiving trash talk and when it does happen, he always keeps the receipt.
On the Oct. 6 slate of Week 5 games, there was an AFC North showdown between the Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals were coming off their first win of the season and were looking to capitalize off it against their division rival.
It was a back-and-forth battle that had to be settled in overtime after Jackson and the Ravens offense overcame a 10-point deficit. After Jackson fumbled at the 6:28 mark of OT, the Bengals’ offense looked to claim the victory but missed the game-winning field goal. After a 51-yard run from Derrick Henry, the Ravens’ offense opted to take a FG for the 41-38 win.
Jackson went 26/42 for 348 passing yards, 55 rushing yards and four touchdowns while Henry rushed for 92 yards and a score.
During today’s presser, Jackson recalled a Bengals fan’s trash talk attempt that took place prior to Sunday’s game. Jackson and his teammates were eating at a restaurant in an area that was meant for them, but that didn’t stop fans from chirping.
“We’re gonna kick your a**,” Jackson mimicked. “I got mad. She gone be the reason why we end up winning…Just be a fan next time.”
This isn’t the first time Jackson has made an opposing fan eat crow (raven). In the 2019 season during the Ravens-Niners game (Dec. 1, 2019), San Francisco 49ers broadcaster Tim Ryan said that Jackson’s “dark skin” helped him hide the football. The Ravens ended up winning 20-17 and Jackson finished the game with 105 passing yards, 101 rushing yards and two total TDS.
The following week, Dec. 8, 2019, Jackson made it clear he heard about Ryan’s comments by wearing a white long sleeve and white gloves during the game. Jackson racked up 145 passing yards, three TDS and 40 rushing yards in the Ravens 24-17 win over the Buffalo Bills.
When will fans learn not to trash talk a two-time MVP?
Jackson and the Ravens will have another test in Week 6 when they face the 4-1
