The Dolphins could trade veteran edge rusher Emmanuel Ogbah to the Ravens or Chargers this season. According to Pro Football Focus, they have Ogbah landing with a new team since the Dolphins are most likely tanking this year due to several injuries. There’s no clear sign of what Miami’s future will look like this season but they’re more closer to tanking than looking like a playoff team. Tua Tagovailoa may return but no one knows what type of production he will put so it might be better to rest him on the IR and prepare for next year.

The Dolphins have one of the worst offenses with the emergence of Skylar Thompson and Tyler Huntley. Even after their win against New England, their playoff chances are in jeopardy. However, the good news is that Ogbah is playing better than anyone was anticipating. Ogbah might’ve been dealing with injuries in the past but so far he’s putting up a 64.4 PFF run-defense grade this year.

Miami lost edge rusher Jaelan Phillips to a season-ending injury, but the team has enough depth to rotate. Chop Robinson and Calais Campbell are still on the roster so the Dolphins could move on from Ogbah. There are plenty of championship teams out there that need more reinforcements on defense and Ogbah could be an excellent rotational piece for any of them.

Extra Support in Baltimore

There were some issues during the first two weeks but the Ravens finally have a solid-looking offense. The run game is better than ever since releasing Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins this past offseason. Derrick Henry has been putting up efficient numbers and recently-extended Justice Hill is carrying the short-pass plays. Baltimore was favorites to sign Ogbah this offseason but Miami brought him back to reinforce their corps.

However, the defense is arguably not the same as last year since losing Patrick Queen and Jadeveon Clowney. The defense still has an above-average pass-rushing group but they’re getting younger. David Ojabo and Odafe Oweh need a new third man to help get comfortable switching talent to get after the quarterback. Kyle Van Noy is still the leader of the pack so it makes sense to bring in a veteran who could make this defense into a superstar-caliber to make a quarterback’s life hard.

Jim Harbaugh’s Defense

Extra reinforcements may be needed for Jim Harbaugh since he loves winning football games with a physical defense. He runs an old-school style of defense so he’s always looking to get as much talent to possibly prepare for playoff contention. Harbaugh already loves a running game so what he wants from this team is winning in the trenches. Ogbah’s production could give him what he wants since he has that same mentality.

Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack probably won’t be around for much longer even though they restructured their contract. Bosa is already dealing with injury so it may be harder for the Chargers to give him another long-term deal.

Other Potential Trade Destinations

New Orleans Saints

The Saints still probably have one of the best teams despite being 2-3 this season. Dennis Allen has been putting his focus on offense since he may be trying to get as many weapons for Derek Carr to help him keep his job. However, Chase Young hasn’t been doing much of just putting two sacks this year. The presence of Ogbah could bolster this defense down the stretch to give the team a fighting chance for Carr to receive extra time on offense.

Dallas Cowboys

Since losing Micah Parsons, Demarcus Lawrence and possibly Marshawn Kneeland, the Cowboys have one of the worst defenses so far. It was already hard since they lost Dorance Armstrong and Dante Fowler in one offseason. Ogbah probably won’t completely change this defense but it’s better than risking their reserve players like Demarvion Overshown.
