BREAKING: Chargers, Ravens, Saints May Pursue Returning Receiver.

The Chargers, Ravens or Saints may pursue returning wide receiver, Odell Beckham Jr. from Miami who may tank this year.

The Chargers, Ravens or Saints may pursue returning receiver from IR, Odell Beckham Jr. who is working back to full health. According to a report, Beckham made his debut against the Patriots in a limited role as he’s still recovering from a knee injury preventing him from beginning his tenure in Miami. However, the Dolphins could use Beckham as a trade chip to build more draft capital since they’re closer to having a solid draft pick rather than being contenders. Beckham is behind plenty of receivers like Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill who could carry their weight the rest of the year.

The Dolphins originally brought in Beckham on a one-year deal but he has yet to make any type of impact for the depleting offense. However, things may only get worse despite their escaping win against New England since they’re without Tua Tagovailoa. It’s unclear what Tagovailoa will do when he comes back and what type of aerial attack Mike McDaniels will have. The passing game has been unproductive under the presence of Skylar Thompson and Tyler Huntley.

It’s hard to imagine Beckham doing anything in this offense since they probably won’t want to risk rushing back Tagovailoa anytime soon. Beckham will hit free agency soon next offseason so it might be best for the Dolphins to trade him to get something in return, especially after missing him in the first four weeks of the 2024 campaign. It may look like the Dolphins will be okay after their bounce-back win but things may get ugly once they go up against the Colts.

The Chargers, Ravens and Saints could give Beckham new life in an alternating move that could give him a real chance to play with a contender once he’s healthy.

Rejuvenation Loading?

Odell Beckham may not be the best player he was before but he won’t get better if stays in Miami. The Dolphins have one of the worst offenses this year and it may be much easier for the team to put Tagovailoa on season-ending IR. This means Miami’s chance of being a playoff contender is low but they could build for next year by first possibly trading Beckham. The veteran receiver could be a solid pickup for any roster that’s lacking weapons as other teams looking for a cheaper trade candidate.

There are possible candidates like Davante Adams, Cooper Kupp, DeAndre Hopkins and Amari Cooper. However, the reality is that not every high-powered offense like the Chiefs will acquire either one of them. Perhaps, Beckham would be an ideal candidate for Kansas City since they’re looking for a quick replacement for Rashee Rice. A superstar wideout is probably unlikely for the defending Super Bowl champions since teams like the Raiders are trying to avoid giving their best to the Chiefs.

Contending Teams

The Chargers, Ravens and Saints landing a weapon like Beckham seems more realistic. Perhaps, the Ravens were looking to bring back Beckham but failing to do so. They could do that before the playoffs since Rashod Bateman hasn’t been playing at his peak. However, the Chargers are still looking for a receiver who can get the passing game going for Justin Herbert.

Since losing Mike Williams and Keenan Allen, the passing attack has been disastrous for an already banged-up Herbert. Jim Harbaugh may rely on the run but he must understand that adding at least one receiver to be consistent will help Herbert excel again. Meanwhile, last but not least, the Saints are looking for a replacement behind Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed. Beckham coming into the lineup could make Derek Carr’s life easier in slant situations and red zone opportunities.
