It appears Rashee Rice’s mom has a bit of a sketchy past.
The wide receiver’s mother has been accused of lifting a package from her neighbor, with a Ring camera recording the act on Sunday. And, while it’s not a great look for the Kansas City Chiefs star, it might not be all that new to him.
According to TMZ Sports, Rice’s mom, Marsha Kearney, has previously been accused of stealing and was even arrested for it during the spring.
The outlet notes that Kearney was charged with one misdemeanor count of theft of property greater than or equal to $100 but less than $750 in March. She is alleged to have stolen 40 items from a man, including food, tumblers, laundry products, merchandise, and socks.
TMZ also obtained mugshots, which is shown below:
Rashee Rice’s Mom Hasn’t Addressed The Recent Allegations
Rashee Rice’s mom reportedly appeared before a judge after her arrest. The case against her was dismissed after she met some unspecified conditions.
“Kearney actually went before a judge in the matter … although a court official tells us the case was ultimately dismissed on June 4 — after she completed some unspecified conditions,” TMZ reports.
“It’s unclear if Kearney will face further criminal charges over her alleged theft Sunday at an apartment complex in Texas … where a neighbor said they caught her on video lifting two limited-edition Chappell Roan vinyls from their porch.”
Neither Rice nor his mother have addressed the new allegations publicly. The second-year wide receiver is currently dealing with a knee injury and is about to undergo arthroscopic surgery to determine the extent of the problem.
