Dallas Cowboys Reportedly Make Final Decision on Davante Adams

The Las Vegas Raiders and star wide receiver Davante Adams are parting ways after reports confirmed both parties want the 31-year-old to be traded.

The Raiders acquired Adams from the Green Bay Packers ahead of the 2022 season for a first- and second-round pick.

According to Adam Schefter, the Raiders would “consider” trading Adams for a second-round pick and other compensation. An asking price a handful of contending teams are likely more than willing to pay to land the three-time All-Pro.

Following reports that Adams is expected to be traded, the New York Jets, Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers have been mentioned as options. Another team initially expected to be in the mix was the Dallas Cowboys.

However, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Cowboys are not interested in trading for Adams.

Schultz also revealed the Chiefs are in the market for a receiver after Rashee Rice’s injury, but since the Raiders and Chiefs are division rivals, a trade between the two is highly unlikely.

Schultz said the general consensus around the NFL is the New York Jets will reunite Adams with quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

“The #Jets are seen by many executives as a top landing spot,” wrote Schultz. Though other teams are expected to be involved.”

The Raiders trading Adams doesn’t surprise many, considering he has been involved in trade rumors all offseason. These were sparked by his outburst on Netflix’s “Receiver,” which was released in July, in which he told people on the sidelines that he wanted to get out of Las Vegas in the middle of a game last season.
