How Many Home Records Did Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani Set in 2024?

Los Angeles Dodgers designated hitter Shohei Ohtani has had a record-setting season in 2024 — to say the least. Ohtani has broken different records throughout the season, including several of the Dodgers’ home records at Dodger Stadium.

Ohtani broke three of the Dodgers’ single-season records at Dodger Stadium, including the most home runs, total bases, and RBIs at home. Over 80 games at home, Ohtani has hit 28 home runs, 205 total bases, and 67 RBIs. He nearly set the single season home record for extra-base hits, but came two short of Andre Ethier’s record, per Eric Stephen of TrueBlue LA.

Ohtani was already a two-time American League MVP and considered by many to be the best player in baseball before he signed with the Dodgers on a 10-year, $700 million contract, but even he has surpassed his previous level of play despite not pitching this season.

Along with setting all these Dodger Stadium single-season records, Ohtani broke Shawn Green’s single-season franchise home run record of 49. Ohtani has now hit 54 home runs and stolen 58 bases on the season, making him the first player in MLB history to record 50 of each in a single season. He hit the 50/50 mark in epic fashion against the Miami Marlins, going 6-6 with three home runs, 10 RBIs, and two stolen bases.
