TRADE RUMOR: Blockbuster Trade Proposal Would Bring Tyreek Hill Back to the Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs are currently trying to figure out what life might be like without star wide receiver Rashee Rice, who suffered a knee injury in Sunday’s win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

While it has not yet been determined how much time Rice will miss with his knee injury, the expectations is that he won’t return to the field in the near future, with some fearing that he suffered a torn ACL.

For Patrick Mahomes and the two-time defending champions, it may be time to call upon a player from their past who brought them bountiful success in the passing game.

Might the Chiefs reach out to the Miami Dolphins and try to trade for WR Tyreek Hill?

Tyreek Hill

It would be an absolute blockbuster trade that could go down as one of the biggest in NFL history, and it would fetch a sizeable trade price for Kansas City. Here’s what DraftKings projected on social media the package would look like:

When you consider how good Hill and Mahomes were together, though, it might be worth it.

Hill spent the first six years of his career in Kansas City, where he caught 479 passes for 6,630 yards and 56 touchdowns. The Chiefs won a Super Bowl in 2020 with Mahomes and Hill leading the way, but Hill signed with the Miami Dolphins in free agency two seasons later.

In Miami, catching passes from Tua Tagovailoa in Mike McDaniel’s offense, life has been pretty great for Hill from a production standpoint. In his two-plus years, Hill has caught 251 passes for 3,703 yards and 21 touchdowns. But the health of Tagovailoa and his future in the NFL might make the Dolphins consider whether or not they should sell high on Hill while the value is there.

For the Chiefs, it could be a championship-caliber trade. Kansas City is trying to make NFL history this year, going for their third-straight Super Bowl win. After a 4-0 start to the season, it’s clear that they have the offensive firepower to get back to that mountain top, but without Rice playing for the foreseeable future, and potentially the rest of the season, it could be time that they make a move.
