The Miami Dolphins suffered a blow before their Monday Night Football game even began when Jeff Wilson Jr. injured his knee. The team has struggled on offense all night, potentially even looking worse than their previous game against the Seattle Seahawks.
To make matters worse, star wide receiver Jaylen Waddle left the field late in the second quarter, noticeably limping. Although Waddle returned to the game in the second half with his left ankle taped, his injury is a concern.
The Tennessee Titans’ defensive strategy has focused on shutting down the run game and forcing quarterback Tyler Huntley to rely on his arm. This strategy has proved effective, as the Dolphins have struggled to generate any offense.
Waddle’s absence only compounds the Dolphins’ offensive woes. Before exiting the game, he had two catches for 18 yards.
Without him on the field, the Titans have one less offensive weapon to worry about. The Dolphins’ remaining receiving options, including Dee Eskridge, haven’t been able to make an impact.
Huntley has struggled to lead the offense, and the Dolphins’ offensive struggles are evident in all aspects of the game. The only reason the Dolphins are remotely competitive is because the Titans have also struggled to perform.
While a quarterback change might be considered, the effectiveness of such a move is questionable given Waddle’s injury, the Titans’ focus on stopping Tyreek Hill, and the lack of a run game.
