Lakers’ LeBron James and Bronny James had a hilarious back-and-forth in their first interview together during Monday’s Media Day. The father-son duo are already going at each other in practice. GM Rob Pelinka gave reporters insight into their first tussle during scrimmage when LeBron got switched onto Bronny.

“Bronny got switched onto LeBron and he took him baseline and up and under off the glass,” Pelinka said. “The words exchanged afterwards were probably more challenging than anything else.”

Spectrum SportsNet’s Allie Clifton’s first question for LeBron and Bronny was about this documented on-court battle between them. Bronny defended himself, saying LeBron stepped out of bounds on the play Pelinka spoke about.

“I looked at the film and he did step out of bounds, but I’m not gonna go there,” Bronny said.

“What do you mean you’re not gonna go there right now, you just went there,” LeBron replied. “They don’t even have the camera angle of the baseline like that.”

LeBron James then forced Bronny James to speak about a ‘stop’ he got on him, which the latter disputed that it was a foul. The two bantered about the whistle not going Bronny’s way, which ended with LeBron reminding him that he’s still a rookie.

“Man you’re a rookie anyways,” LeBron said.

Here’s the video of this comical exchange between the James’:

LeBron James pumped to play with Bronny James

LeBron James is getting closer to making history as opening night nears. LeBron and Bronny James will become the first father-son duo to step on the court together in the NBA. The Lakers have hinted at those plans already to set that up as soon as possible.

LeBron gave insight into his mindset ahead of the chance to play with his son during Monday’s Media Day.

“Lot of excitement, just a pure joy, to be able to come to work every day, you know, put in the hard work with your son every day,” James said.

Playing with his son was one of LeBron James’ ultimate goals. He spoke about it in January 2022 and is finally getting to live that experience. However, that doesn’t seem to be all for the four-time MVP.

He assured that he still has plenty to offer, entering his 22nd season, and Bronny’s presence has only fueled him to do better. LeBron is coming off his third Olympic gold medal win at the Paris Games, where he was crowned the tournament’s MVP.

He will hope to carry that momentum onto the new season and help the Lakers make a deep playoff push.
