Justin Herbert’s frustration poured over the sidelines at SoFi Stadium as he smashed his helmet in a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers saw a 10-0 lead dissolve on Sunday night as their divisional rivals emerged with a 17-10 win in the Week 4 showdown.
The usually calm quarterback was unhappy with his team’s performance and his frustration boiled over in an unpleasant scene on the sideline.
Despite an ankle injury, Herbert suited up for the important meeting with the reigning champions and could not hide his exasperation during the game. In the third quarter, Herbert was seen slamming his helmet on the bench after another lackluster drive from his offense.
While the meltdown was unpleasant, it was warranted as Herbert struggled throughout the contest.

Herbert got sacked twice and hit ten times by Kansas City’s defense. Dealing with the injury, he was seen limping off the field several times.
Nonetheless, Herbert made 16-of-27 passes for 179 yards and a touchdown – which he connected with Ladd McConkey.
After taking an early lead, the Chargers were held scoreless in the second half. Their four drives resulted in two punts, a missed field goal, and a turnover on downs.
Los Angeles came into Sunday’s game behind consecutive wins over the Raiders and Panthers before losing to the Steelers in Week 3. The defeat now moves them to a 2-2 record.
They will have a much-needed bye week before they are back in action against the Denver Broncos in Week 6.
On the other hand, the Chiefs started their season with a 27-20 win over the Ravens, a 26-25 win over the Bengals, and a 22-17 victory over the Falcons. They extended their unbeaten streak to four games with the win over LA.
Kansas City hopes to continue their winning ways against the New Orleans Saints on October 8.
