Steph Curry is a global phenomenon and his fans are everywhere across the world. The Golden State Warriors star has touched millions of hearts across the globe and South Korean golfer Si Woo Kim is one of his admirers. During the 2024 Presidents Cup, on Saturday, Kim imitated Curry’s ‘night-night’ celebration.
The celebration from the pro golfer came when he perfectly put away the win with an incredible birdie. After Kim made the shot, he immediately ran around the field with Curry’s signature ‘night-night’ celebration.
A man with great taste in golf himself, Curry certainly noticed Kim imitating his signature celebration move. The Warriors star took to his social media to send a shoutout to the Korean golfer.
Curry reposted the video of Kim doing the celebration from the PGA Tour Instagram handle and wrote:
“I appreciate the energy and the love (Kim).”
However, the American star also hilariously asked to check the score and time his celebration accordingly against American golfers.
“Gotta know time and score tho!!! #USA,” Curry wrote.
When Kim was asked why he had imitated Curry’s celebration, the Korean golfer said that the four-time NBA champion was his favorite player in the league.
“My favorite NBA player is Steph Curry, so that’s what I did.”
Interestingly, this is not the first time that Kim has imitated an NBA player during his own game. In 2022, while playing against the USA during the PGA Tour at Quail Hollow, Kim imitated Kobe Bryant’s famous ‘silence’ celebration against Team USA.
Soccer superstar Lionel Messi recreates Steph Curry’s night-night celebration
Even before Si Woo Kim did his famous imitation of Steph Curry’s ‘night-night’ celebration, it was global superstar Lionel Messi who paid respect to the Warriors star this way.
Earlier this month, in a game between Inter Miami and Philadelphia Union, Messi produced this famous celebration. In a win over the Union, after he hit a crucial goal for his team, Messi calmly did his night-night celebration, making it even more fitting.
Since the Paris Olympics, Steph Curry’s night-night celebration has become global. In both the semifinal and the gold medal game, Curry took away any chance that the opposition had against Team USA.
In the final minutes of the gold medal game, he hit a three-pointer to seal the game and immediately went around the court doing his famous celebration.
Curry appeared in his first Olympics when he joined Team USA in Paris. Although he struggled in the beginning, he was the best player for the team in the semifinal and the gold medal game. His two performances were some of the best in the Olympic history.
