Patrick Mahomes’ Seven-Word Message After Royals Make Playoffs

The Kansas City Royals are back! Nine years after their 2015 World Series title, Kansas City is making their return to the postseason. The Minnesota Twins’ loss meant that the Royals are guaranteed a slot in the playoffs this year.

Everyone in Kansas City is hyped up with this performance. That includes Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes, who was also a baseball player himself in his college days, was excited for the Royals to make their return to the playoffs.

In a seven-word post, Mahomes expressed his excitement for the Royals. Here’s what the Chiefs star had to say.

The Royals were seen as a dark-horse contender this season in the MLB, but expectations were still relatively low for the team. It came as a surprise to everyone when Kansas City started performing way better than expected. The Royals have been hovering around the Wild Card race all season long, and they finally clinched it after the Twins’ loss.

Bobby Witt Jr is the face of the team, and he’s deservedly getting a lot of praise. The star shortstop has taken that next step, performing incredibly well on both offense and defense. However, the rest of the team has played incredible, with their pitching in particular shutting down other teams.

The Royals are now going to play essentially for playoff positioning in their last two games against the Atlanta Braves. In addition, they have a chance of ruining Atlanta’s own playoff hopes if they do beat them in both games.
