The Dallas Cowboys started their season off with a massive win over the Cleveland Browns. Dallas is coming off three straight regular seasons in which they win at least 12 games, but failed to reach the NFC Championship Game.
If they want to think long-term at a key position on offense, one name should be near the top of their list.

CBS Sports projects Dallas will select Ashton Jeanty in the first round of the 2025 draft. Jeanty is a 5’9″ running back from Boise State:

After years of selecting non-flashy offensive linemen — or defensive tackles — in the first round, Jerry Jones gets his wish with the thunderous runner from Boise State who also comes with lightning quickness.
Ezekiel Elliot and Rico Dowdle are the top two running backs on Dallas’ roster as week head into week two of the 2024 NFL Season. It is very likely that Dallas will want to think long term at the position very soon. Jeanty could give them a very electric option in the backfield.
According to Nick Bromberg of Yahoo Sports:
Jeanty’s nine touchdowns this season are by far the most of any skill position player in college football. UCF’s R.J. Harvey has scored six TDs through two games this season and no other player has more than five. Just 16 players across all of college football have scored more than three rushing and receiving touchdowns.
The junior may be the best running back in college football and is a big reason why Boise State has a great chance to make the College Football Playoff if it wins the Mountain West. The Broncos went toe-to-toe with the Ducks late Saturday night and Jeanty is performing without an explosive passing game to back him up. Boise State QB Maddux Madsen has thrown for 31 fewer yards than Jeanty has rushed for on 71 pass attempts.
