The 2024 NFL campaign for the Dallas Cowboys started on the right track as they defeated the Cleveland Browns on opening day as Tom Brady watched from inside the FOX commentary booth. According to the former NFL quarterback, the Cowboys have a great team as they kept the core players from the last 3 years.
Brady was in Dallas at a Fanatics shop, signing autographs. Ahead of the Cowboys game against the New Orleans Saints, fans wanted to know the 46-year-old’s opinion about their team’s chances.
I think it’s a promising time for Cowboys fans because they have had a great team in the last 3 seasons, and I think what I saw from the last week’s game they are gonna be really tough to beat this year.Tom Brady said, as per the Athletic’s Jon Machota
Dallas dominated the Browns in Cleveland, with the defense coming out on top by picking off quarterback Deshaun Watson twice. In offense, Dak Prescott threw 1 touchdown pass to Brandin Cooks and created another for Ezekiel Elliott.
Brady pointed out that the Cowboys front office did a remarkable job of extending player contracts even though they left it late until the last few days before the season kicked off.
They had a couple of distractions this offseason, but they got those sorted out with Dak and CeeDee Lamb.Tom Brady added
Prescott became the highest-paid player in NFL history, while Lamb, one of the top-earning wide receivers. On Friday, owner Jerry Jones told 105.3 The Fan that the Cowboys, “We’re the No. 1 cash-spender on players.”
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan on Dallas’ cash spending: “I’m proud to tell you today, factually, we spent the most cash of any club in the National Football League this year on players. We’re the No. 1 cash-spender on players. The reason I’m saying it in that manner is…

Tom Brady expects a great season from the Dallas Cowboys
Although the Cowboys were slow to bring in players from free agency or even sign trade deals, they made a big change in the coaching department by re-instating Mike Zimmer as their defensive coordinator. From Brady’s perspective, Zimmer will instill old-school discipline and toughness, which will help players such as Micah Parsons find new gear.
I think bringing in Mike Zimmer as defensive coordinator is gonna make a big difference. It allows Micah Parsons to make a big impact on every single game. They just have a lot of great, talented players and great coaches. I know they run a tough program, so I expect great things from the Cowboys.Tom Brady said
According to Pro Football Focus, the Cowboys’ defense applied 40 pressures on the Browns’ offensive line and recorded 6 sacks—DeMarcus Lawrence and Eric Kendricks had 4 combined sacks, while Micah Parsons and DeMarvion Overshown shared 1 each.

However, the statistics that keep Cowboys fans awake at night don’t take place until post-season. In the last three years, they finished the regular season with a 12-5 record but failed to win any of their playoff games, including a historic loss against the Green Bay Packers at home.
Tom Brady may back the Cowboys to achieve a great season, but his FOX colleague Colin Cowherd predicted that Jerry’s team will miss out on the playoffs.
