Despite 11 penalties and a 10-minute difference in time of possession, the Dallas Cowboys escaped the New York Giants with a 20-15 win on “Thursday Night Football.”
The victory improved Dallas’ record to an even 2-2 on the young season and dropped the Giants to last place in the NFC East at 1-3.
With less than four minutes to play in regulation, Cowboys star defender Micah Parsons went down in pain before exiting the field with an ankle injury. He spent a few moments in the blue medical tent on the sideline before departing to the locker room on a cart.
According to The Athletic’s Jon Machota, after the game, Parsons was “limping around the locker room, definitely in pain.”
The Cowboys reporter also revealed three words the All-Pro linebacker shared with quarterback Dak Prescott about his injury status: “I’ll be good.”

NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo added on X that “Parsons spent some time icing his ankle on the #Cowboys’ training table. Limping a bit but no indications here in the locker room he suffered a significant injury.”
After an impactful Week 1 debut against the Cleveland Browns, the 25-year-old has been quiet on the stat sheet over his last three games.
Parsons finished Thursday’s divisional matchup with only two total tackles, including one for loss.
He combined for just eight tackles and a single QB hit in Weeks 2 and 3 and has just 1.0 sack this season after notching at least 13.0 in each of his first three NFL campaigns.
Next up for the Cowboys is a Week 5 road game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on “Sunday Night Football.” That gives Parsons and company 10 full days to rest and recover.
