EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Cowboys lost both starting defensive ends in Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence on Thursday.
Parsons left the game with 3:30 left in the fourth quarter after he was blocked to the ground by Giants center John Michael Schmitz Jr. Parsons needed help off the field from two trainers as he was favoring his left leg. He was later carted to the locker room.
After the game, Parsons said X-rays were negative on his left ankle and he will undergo an MRI exam Friday. He had his left foot wrapped and was seen limping in the locker room.
“I won’t know until tomorrow,” Parsons said of his ankle. “We don’t have any idea. I was coming off and a guy, as I was planting, a guy fell on me.”
Parsons had earlier left the game with a neck injury. Parsons said defensive tackle Mazi Smith ran into him. Lawrence departed the game early in the third quarter with a foot injury. Lawrence suffered the injury trying to sack Jones.
Lawrence said he’ll be fine but his foot “hurts like hell.”
Safety Malik Hooker also exited the game near the end of the first half with an undisclosed health issue. But he returned. Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown also departed with a bloody knee. Overshown returned.
