KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: Donna Kelce is gracefully handling a recent mix-up on social media, where some fans confused her for another famous mom – Taylor Swift’s mother Andrea.
The Internet buzz began after ‘Star Wars’ actor Mark Hamill tweeted a photo of Andrea Swift at the Kansas City Chiefs’ game on September 15.
Taylor Swift’s mom Andrea wears ’87 Era’ pin, sparking mix-up with Donna Kelce
In the picture, Andrea Taylor was wearing a pin that read “In my 87 era,” referencing both her daughter Taylor’s Eras Tour and Travis Kelce’s jersey number. Hamill sweetly captioned the post with, “#ILoveTaylorSwift’s mom.”
However, when a fan named @chiefsera24 reposted Hamill’s tweet the following day, they mistakenly tagged Donna Kelce instead of Andrea.
The mix-up didn’t go unnoticed, as social media users began to speculate whether the fan had confused the two blonde moms.
Despite the online jumble, Donna responded with nothing but warmth, replying to the user on September 20, “Love you too!!”
This kind gesture from the NFL mom quickly won the hearts of many.
The fan, @chiefsera24, graciously admitted their mistake, tweeting, “Mrs. Kelce I’m sorry I got you in the middle of this twisted narrative… I appreciate this gracious post and btw I love you too. Best mom living her best life.”
While the social media mishap may have caused some temporary confusion, there is no misunderstanding about the bond between Donna and Andrea.
Donna Kelce and Andrea Swift share heartwarming moment at Chiefs-Bengals game
The two were seen sharing a touching moment at the Chiefs’ game against the Cincinnati Bengals on September 15.
Donna and Andrea embraced in their box seats and chatted for a few minutes, with Donna sweetly holding Andrea’s arm throughout the conversation.
Both moms have also embraced the attention surrounding Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s relationship.
While Andrea wore her “In my 87 era” pin to honor the couple, Donna paid tribute in her own way.
At the Chiefs’ September 5 game, she sported a custom-designed black baseball cap with embroidery that symbolized the couple’s connection.
The cap featured sprigs of white cosmos for Travis’ birth month of October, and sprigs of holly for Taylor’s December birth month, along with Travis’ jersey number, 87.
The cap’s designer, Alexa Pearlmutter, shared the story behind the hat on TikTok, explaining how the design was meant to combine matching florals with the Chiefs’ logo and Travis’ jersey number to create a special tribute.
The heartfelt design and Donna’s continued support for her son and his relationship have only added to her beloved status among fans.
