The moment the referee blew the final whistle on Sunday night at AT&T Stadium, every football fan kept refreshing X (previously known as Twitter) to catch the latest diss from Stephen A. Smith. There’s only one reason the veteran analyst would stay up late, and that’s to mock the Dallas Cowboys fans.

Shortly after the game in Dallas ended 28-25 in favor of the visitors Baltimore Ravens, Smith uploaded his latest take on their performance. For once, he wasn’t that critical; instead, he sympathized with the Cowboys fans because their team fought until the end.

I am not gonna get on you too much today, cause you came back and made a fight out of it. You fought, Cowboys fans. You fought. Be proud of yourself, cause you fought and you fought and you fought hard.

Stephen A. Smith said

At one point in the game, the Cowboys were losing 28-6 at the end of the third quarter. However, quarterback Dak Prescott orchestrated three quickfire touchdowns to reduce the score to 3 points, but it wasn’t enough.

[You fought hard] but you still lost. We will talk about that tomorrow on First Take, you hear?

Stephen A. Smith added

All eyes and ears will now be glued to Monday’s segment of ESPN’s First Take.

Before the week 3 game, Stephen A. Smith sat down with the Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and spoke in depth about the team’s off-season business. Smith also discussed their latest blockbuster deals for both Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who was upset for not seeing the ball enough.

Why does Stephen A. Smith hate the Dallas Cowboys?

Smith has faced this particular question several times, and on each occasion, he modifies with a backstory, but the gist always remains the same. According to him, he doesn’t dislike the franchise; in fact, he is very close with Jones.

However, the longtime ESPN contributor isn’t fond of the fanbase.

It has nothing to do with the Cowboys. It has everything to do with their disgusting, nauseating fan base [which I can’t stand]. That’s who they are. For me, I have nothing against any player on the Cowboys. [It’s their damn fans that get on my nerves]. Their fans are so nauseating to me; they are just so annoying that nothing pleases me more than to watch a Cowboy fan miserable.

Stephen A. Smith told Kevin Clark of The Ringer. (H/T: Sports Illustrated)

Regardless of what Smith believes about the Cowboys fans, he doesn’t exactly have any say about the culture surrounding the team. They have a much more pressing matter to think about. After losing to the Ravens, the Cowboys are now 1-2 and have lost consecutive home games for the first time since 2017.
