‘We see you, Charbs’ – Twitter reacts to Seahawks’ 24-3 win over the Dolphins

Seahawks defense yields no touchdowns as they improve to 3-0.

It was the Mike M. showdown as Mike McDaniel’s Miami Dolphins came to town to battle against Mike Macdonald’s Seattle Seahawks. Now three weeks into this new season, we’re starting to get a feel for who these new Seahawks are, and if you were expecting things to look different this week… well I’m not sure what to tell you. Geno Smith and DK Metcalf kept doing their thing, the offensive line was suspect and created a bunch of adversity, the defense was swarming, and the refs were giving out flags like Oprah.

The Seahawks were quick to put points on the board with a 56-yard field goal by Jason Myers, and the following drive ended in a quick Zach Charbonnet touchdown set up by a beautiful contested catch by DK. Shortly thereafter though, I started getting flashbacks to week one. Backed up against our own goal line, and Geno, under pressure and at risk of a safety, ricocheted a pass off of Charbonnet’s face mask. The ball popped straight up into the air and was intercepted by the Dolphins in the red zone.

The defense stayed amazing in the red zone, stuffing the Dolphins on 3rd and short and limiting them to a field goal.

On the very first play of the next possession, pass protection held up long enough for Geno to find a wide open DK Metcalf for second long touchdown in as many weeks, this time for 71 yards. 17-3 Seattle.

It’s difficult to tell the story of the 2nd half with tweets, as little happened in the way of football until well into the 4th quarter. The 3rd quarter went exactly how the 1st half ended: with the guys in striped shirts making it all about them. I should point out though, the defense kept playing very well, and neither Miami quarterback found any peace in the backfield.

The Dolphins did have a very promising drive late in the game, driving all the way down to the Seattle 2 yard line before getting stood up at the goal line and turning the ball over on downs. Once again, Seattle took over with the entire field in front of them, but this time around, we sustained a long drive, with only a single penalty, and to cap it off, Charbonnet cut it outside and ran 10 yards for his second touchdown of the game, and effectively putting this one on ice.

Personally, I’m looking forward to yet another ugly football game next week, when the 3-0 Seahawks travel to Detroit for a fight under the bright lights of Monday night! Kickoff at 5:15 pm pacific on Monday, Sept. 30, 2024 on ABC.
