After six seasons in the NFL, running back Ty Montgomery has announced his retirement.
Montgomery’s career spanned 92 games, during which he recorded 1,187 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 263 carries.
He also added 147 receptions for 1,159 yards and four touchdowns. Montgomery entered the league as a third-round draft pick by the Green Bay Packers in 2015.
His most productive season came in 2016 with the Packers, when he tallied 457 rushing yards, 348 receiving yards, and three touchdowns. Montgomery also spent time with the Baltimore Ravens, New York Jets, and New Orleans Saints.
He expressed gratitude to fans in his retirement announcement and hinted at future endeavors. Though he never fully reached the potential many saw in him, Montgomery provided valuable versatility as both a runner and receiver throughout his career.
