Patrick Mahomes and wife Brittany enjoy date night watching their Kansas City soccer team

Patrick Mahomes and wife Brittany enjoyed a date night on Friday as they went to watch their Kansas City Current soccer team play.

The Chiefs quarterback and his wife, a former college soccer player herself, are investors in the NWSL franchise.

They regularly go to games together, when they don’t clash with the Chiefs’ schedule, and bring friends along – including Patrick’s teammate Travis Kelce.

The couple were sat in their suite at the Current’s new $120million facility that only opened at the start of the season.

They were seen chatting among themselves and with friends, who they had invited to watch the game.

It turned out to be an exciting evening with the Current claiming a 3-0 victory over the Washington Spirit thanks to goals from Nichelle Prince, Lo’eau LaBonta and Temwa Chawinga.

It was a victory that could have major postseason implications with just two points now separating the Current from second-placed Spirit.

The victory capped off a celebratory week for Mahomes, who turned 29 on Tuesday.

Kelce spared no expense with his birthday present to his best friend, splashing out $31,000 for a new golf bag.

The NFL icons have played together in Kansas City since QB Mahomes was drafted in 2017, and have become extremely close both on and off the field.

In recent years, the pair have become golf buddies as well as football, regularly hitting the links together during their off-time.

So what do you buy the man who has everything, for his 29th birthday? Well, if you’re Kelce: a new Louis Vuitton golf bag worth up to $31,000.

Speaking on ‘The Drive’ podcast on Tuesday, Mahomes revealed: ‘Travis got me a Louis Vuitton golf bag so that is gonna be sweet.

‘I don’t know how much I can use that on the golf course but it will be nice to have.’

The garish bags, which can be found on the fashion house’s website, range from $23,000 up to a top-end price of $31,500.
