Like the LA Lakers superstar, Young made it to the NFL as the No. 1 overall pick with massive expectations on his shoulders but has seen some rough waters. He is 2-16 as a starter, and per Bleacher Report, has 11 touchdown passes to 13 interceptions after being drafted as the top prospect of the 2023 NFL Draft.
While it is unfair to point fingers at their QB, the Panthers are yet to assemble a squad that will help spark a turnaround. Though Young will be disappointed with the benching, LeBron James’ words of consolation will surely steel him up for the future.
Kendrick Perkins gets real on LeBron James’ longevity
While the LA Lakers winning another title in the LeBron James era is debatable, there is no doubt that the 20x NBA All-Star can add more accolades to his decorated resume. In a recent segment, former NBA star-turned-analyst Kendrick Perkins believed there were more honors in store for James.
“No cap! LeBron is gonna make a few All-NBA teams before he retires, and I mean at a minimum [of] two… Don’t give me anything about his age… as long as he’s on the floor, LeBron James is gonna be an All-NBA-caliber player, and he’s gonna make a few of them before he retires.”
In the past edition, James proved to be a freight train despite his age, averaging 25.7 points, 8.3 assists, and 7.3 rebounds shooting 54% from the field and a career-high 41% from beyond the arc.
Earlier this summer, he also helped lead the Team USA men’s basketball defend the Olympic gold medal run while being named the MVP of the tournament.
LeBron James continues to defy time and produce at an elite level. On the season front, the Lakers heavily depend on him and Anthony Davis to get them through, and only time will tell if the duo can lead LA to another title.
