Star pass rusher Micah Parsons will miss another game for the Dallas Cowboys due to a high ankle sprain, and All-Pro cornerback DaRon Bland will have to wait at least another week for his season debut.
Parsons and Bland were officially ruled out on Friday for the game against San Francisco on Sunday night. This marks Parsons’ third straight game missed, as he is sidelined with an injury for the first time in his career.
Bland is currently on injured reserve after having surgery late in the preseason for a stress fracture in his foot. Last season, the third-year player set an NFL record with five interception returns for touchdowns.
With Parsons absent, the Cowboys (3-3) will be without their top two pass rushers for the third game in a row.
DeMarcus Lawrence is also on injured reserve with a foot injury.
Parsons sprained his ankle during a 20-15 win over the New York Giants and has missed games against Pittsburgh and Detroit since then. The only other game he missed was due to COVID-19 in 2021, when he was named the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Linebacker Eric Kendricks and rookie cornerback Caelen Carson are listed as questionable for the game against the 49ers (3-4) due to shoulder injuries. Kendricks has already missed one game, while Carson has been out for three. Carson was Bland’s replacement at the start of the season.
