Mark Cuban jokingly asks LeBron James to retire
And while King James successfully navigated seminary, Mark Cuban recently joked that he should consider retiring after his 22nd NBA season, not because James’ performance has declined, but because his continued dominance presents a challenge for rival teams like Cuban’s Dallas Mavericks.
Furthermore, in the interview with TMZ Sports, Cuban humorously suggested that James’ high level of play makes it difficult for other teams to compete. The four-time NBA champion has practically defeated father-time as he prepares to compete in his 22nd season.
Last season, he averaged an impressive 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 8.3 assists, where he proved that he remains a top performer in the league. Just as Cuban acknowledged that as long as James continues to play at this level, teams like the Mavericks will face serious challenges when competing against him.
With four NBA championships, four MVPs, and numerous accolades, James has little left to prove, as he said it’s extra credit for him. He will be tasked with leading the Lakers back to the top as the new season begins.
