Facing the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs to open the 2024 NFL season, the Baltimore Ravens saw one of their best veterans on the defensive side of the football go down.
Linebacker Kyle Van Noy suffered an eye injury in the loss, and he later complained about the way Kansas City’s medical staff treated him.
Now, he is aiming to get back on the field for Week 2, when the Ravens host the Las Vegas Raiders in their home opener.
Despite the scary injury, Van Noy has a chance to play, which is better news than expected for the Ravens, according to NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo.
Baltimore is a heavy favorite against an offense that couldn’t do much against the new-look Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1.
So, even if Van Noy can’t get back on the field against the Raiders, the Ravens likely can cruise to victory, as Las Vegas seems to be a mess at the moment, with starting quarterback Gardner Minshew trying to get his feet under him with his new team.
However, the Raiders could have one of the best defenses in the league, with superstar pass rusher Maxx Crosby leading the way, meaning if the Ravens defense struggles, it could become a challenging game.
