UPDATES NEWS :Ravens Place Deonte Harty on Injured Reserve

The Ravens will be without their top returner for at least four weeks after Head Coach John Harbaugh announced Deonte Harty will be placed on injured reserve with a knee injury. Harbaugh said Harty’s injury isn’t season ending.

The Archbishop Curley graduate signed with his hometown Ravens this offseason and has returned eight punts for 85 yards across five games this year.

Harty missed Baltimore’s Week 5 game against the Cincinnati Bengals with a knee injury but returned last week against the Washington Commanders. Harty didn’t practice this week before being placed on IR.

“Harty is our guy, and we believe in him, and when he’s healthy and he’s the right place, we know he can be a difference maker for us,” Special Teams Coordinator Chris Horton said Friday.

With Harty out, the Ravens will likely turn to wide receiver Tylan Wallace for return duties.

“We have Tylan [Wallace] who does it, and other guys that can go back there as backups or even as a two-return type of a format,” Harbaugh said.

Wallace stepped in for Harty in Week 5 and was Baltimore’s top returner down the stretch last season. Wallace delivered a marquee moment in 2023 when he returned a punt in overtime against the Los Angeles Rams for a walk-off victory.
