The Dallas Cowboys are back in the headlines and yet again, it has very little to do with their on-field performance during the regular season of 2024. After the intense scrutiny throughout the offseason, owner Jerry Jones seems to have grabbed everyone’s attention for all the wrong reasons.
The 82-year-old recently lost his cool during his last week’s appearance on 105.3 The Fan radio show, when the hosts Shan Shariff and RJ Choppy questioned him about his controversial offseason moves, which in many ways affected the team’s 3-3 record. Being frustrated by the constant criticism, Jones took things a little further and threatened the job of the radio hosts.
Jones never expected the episode to generate such a stir, but as it did, the local radio host opened up about the contentious interview with Dallas owner and referred to it as “demeaning.”

Shariff picked up the subject after his co-host RJ Choppy brought it up, saying he felt “speechless” when Jones threatened their jobs. Even though it didn’t affect him much, it did upset him, and he lost respect for the Billionaire businessman.
Shan Shariff reflects on Jerry Jones’ uncharacteristic outburst
While discussing the subject, host Shariff referenced all their previous episodes with the Cowboys owner, in which they discussed a variety of subjects, from coaching changes in the league to matters concerning the National Flag. But not once did Jones escalate the matter to such an extent, reflecting his intensified frustration with the Cowboys’ continuous failure and being blamed for it.
For more than a decade, Jones has been making weekly appearances on the 105.3 The Fan show for 20 weeks every year. He’s a significant contributor to the radio show’s success but his relations seem to have fell off-balance after one episode and it remains a question whether they would have another weekly episode featuring the Cowboys owner.
