In case you have not heard, Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry is still a pretty special player. For the second time in the 2024 NFL season, Henry has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week after a sensational performance in the Ravens’ 30-23 win over the Washington Commanders last Sunday.
The former Alabama Crimson Tide star ran all over the Commanders, which had no answer to him. Henry lit up Washington for 132 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries.
After the NFL’s announcement for Henry’s Week 6 honor, his girlfriend, Adrianna Rivas, shared a post on social media to congratulate the tailback.
Rivas captioned her Instagram Story post with “SO. PROUD.” along with a “raising hand” emoji.
Henry is proving to be a fantastic offseason acquisition for the Ravens. Signed by Baltimore to a two-year deal worth $16 million in March, the 30-year-old back is leading the NFL through six weeks with 704 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns on 119 carries. Among players with more than 64 carries this season, Henry leads the league with 5.9 yards per rushing attempt.
With Henry finding his groove in the Ravens’ attack, Baltimore has won four games in a row after an 0-2 start to the season. Henry and the Ravens’ offense will next test the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ defense on Monday night in Tampa.
