BREAKING: De’Von Achane will return in Week 7 as the Dolphins face off against the Colts.

De'von Achane

The Miami Dolphins could receive a major boost for their Week 7 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts, as running back De’Von Achane took a step forward at Wednesday’s practice and was listed as a full participant.

Achane is working to return from a concussion that he suffered in Week 5 against the New England Patriots. The Dolphins were on bye in Week 6.

Week 7 could be the final game in which the Dolphins have to survive without quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who is recovering from a concussion of his own. He will be eligible to return as soon as Week 8 against the Arizona Cardinals.

If Achane were to suit up for the Dolphins against the Colts, life would get a little bit easier for Miami as the team looks to get back to .500 heading into Week 8.

In Achane’s second NFL season, he has run for 183 yards and one touchdown in five games (four starts). His role in the passing game has increased significantly over last season, as he already has 186 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown.

The running back finished the 2023 season with 800 rushing yards, eight rushing touchdowns, 197 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns in 11 games (four starts).

The Dolphins appear to be getting healthier, and it’s a wonderful sign as the team looks to turn its season around. Miami certainly isn’t out of the danger zone yet, but getting to 3-3 after being in a 1-3 hole would undeniably change the vibe of the season. That’s especially true considering the fact that Tagovailoa could return soon.

For Achane, the timing of the bye week seemingly played in his favor. If he suits up against the Colts, he will have miraculously returned to action without missing any entire game. He played against the Patriots before suffering his injury.

The Colts are 3-3 this season. They’ve won three of their last four games, so they certainly can’t be taken lightly. However, it appears to be a manageable matchup for the Dolphins, one that could result in a win if the crew is ready to go after a week off.
