WATCH: Detroit Lions social media video trolls Cowboys after blowout with zero punts!

“An act of genius and amazing trolling …”

Just when it seemed the Dallas Cowboys could not be mocked or trolled any harder this week, the Detroit Lions social media team piled on Tuesday with a hilarious video.

The video features highlights from Lions punter Jack Fox. Here’s the catch: Fox didn’t punt a single time in the Lions’ 47-9 brutal beatdown of the Cowboys Sunday at AT&T Stadium. But Fox did hold quite a few kick attempts for placekicker Jake Bates (four field goals, five PATS).

So the Lions posted a 29-second clip of Fox holding some of those kicks.

“@MrJackFox highlights from a zero punt game? Bet,” the video’s message read.

A very simple yet effective troll. Really, the video was much kinder to the Cowboys than the analysts have been in recent days. NBC analyst Jason Garrett said the Cowboys are “just not a tough football team right now.” On ESPN’s Get Up Monday, Damien Woody called the Cowboys “soft” on both side of the line of scrimmage.

The criticism might be taking a toll. On Tuesday, team owner Jerry Jones lashed out at 105.3 The Fan’s Shan Shariff after he asked about the Cowboys’ quiet offseason, with Jones threatening his job.

So it’s been a tough week for Jones and the Cowboys, yet the Lions social media team piling on somehow took it a step further. Even some of the Dallas faithful applauded the creativity. RJ Ochoa, manager and editor-in-chief of SB Nation’s Blogging the Boys website, retweeted the video and noted, “The Detroit Lions did not punt against the Dallas Cowboys. So their social team, in an act of genius and amazing trolling, put together a highlight reel of their punter holding for kicks.

“It has been *a week* for the Cowboys and it is only Tuesday.”
