The trade deadline in the NFL is just a couple of weeks away, and that means certain players from all around the league are going to be circled and viewed as potential trade chips.
One player who could be a possible trade candidate, according to NFL.com’s Tom Blair, is Miami Dolphins edge-rusher Emmanuel Ogbah.
“He’s been an important contributor throughout both the Flores and McDaniel eras…That kind of reliability should fetch a decent price,” Blair wrote recently.
To gear up for the stretch run, teams use the trade deadline to sure up any positions that could use some help and depth.
Ogbah might not be a superstar, but he is a solid veteran who can step in and play very well in the right situation as a quality role player.
The former Super Bowl champion has 44.5 career sacks in over eight seasons, along with 106 quarterback hits and 40 pass deflections.
At 30 years of age, Ogbah could be a very good addition to any team looking to bolster their pass rush.
A team like the Detroit Lions could be a possible suitor because of a major injury to star edge-rusher Aidan Hutchinson (broken tibia).
It all could come down to what a team, such as the Lions, is willing to offer for Ogbah.
Again, he is not an All-Pro player but a steady veteran.
The fact that they are out of both Miami’s division and conference could also be an intriguing piece of the puzzle.
Time will tell to see if Detroit or any other team is willing to trade for the former Oklahoma State star.
