Dodgers manager Dave Roberts provided positive injury updates on Freddie Freeman, Gavin Lux, and Daniel Hudson ahead of NLCS Game 3 against the Mets in New York.
Roberts said he expects both Freeman and Lux to be in the starting lineup, and for Hudson to be available out of the bullpen.
Freeman has played in both NLCS games despite missing some time in the NLDS due to his sprained ankle. Lux, however, left Game 1 of the NLCS with a tightened hip flexor, and didn’t play in Game 2. Roberts said he was available to pinch-hit, but the opportunity never arose.
Lux is expected to be back in the starting lineup, as will Freeman, who Roberts expects to be in there everyday.
“I just don’t see any world where he doesn’t start a game in the NLCS,” Roberts said.
As for Hudson, Roberts said he should be available one day after he was unavailable in a Dodgers loss. Roberts was slightly cryptic in his response to why Hudson was unavailable on Monday, but clearly has much better news on Tuesday.
The Dodgers play games 3-5 of the NLCS on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday this week, all in New York.
