Dwyane Wade is one of the most notable players in NBA history.
The Miami Heat legend retired after the 2019 season and was a first-ballot Hall of Famer.
Recently, Andrew Marchand of The Athletic reported that ESPN has an interest in adding Wade to their network.
Via Marchand: “ESPN is interested in Dwyane Wade for its studio shows.”
Many fans reacted to the news on social media (h/t NBACentral).
@MrAnthony_P: “This is interesting because, to my ears, it felt like Wade was better on the game call (during the Olympics) than he was in the studio (with TNT).”
@AdamTaylorNBA: “Please don’t turn D-Wade into a hot-take machine.”
@HeatCulture13: “He would be the best on ESPN hands down”
@statdefender: “ESPN be showing interest in everyone at this point”
@QuannyNitro: “The Olympics was his tryout. I thought he did a great job calling games.”
@NotRyanMcD: “NBA media personalities are now getting mentioned like they’re player candidates for trade or free agency”
@EternalBast: “If anything, Wade should go back to TNT. That format and environment fits him wayyyy better”
@PlayoffLucro: “Nobody wants this”
Wade played 17 seasons for the Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers.
The three-time NBA Champion had career averages of 22.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.5 steals per contest while shooting 48.0% from the field and 29.3% from the three-point range in 1,054 regular season games.
He appeared in 177 NBA playoff games.
Wade is among the five best shooting guards of all time (and the Heat’s greatest player).
