The New York Yankees welcomed the Cleveland Guardians for Game 1 of the ALCS on Monday night.
The team also welcomed celebrity power couple Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.
Hours before the game began, Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters that he heard Swift and Kelce would be in attendance at Yankee Stadium. MLB confirmed their appearance after the first inning began.
Kelce grew up in Cleveland Heights, Ohio and is a strong supporter of his home-team Guardians.
It’s clear Swift doesn’t share that same allegiance.
Yankees outfielder Juan Soto kicked off the scoring with a solo home run shot in the bottom of the third. After the ball made it over the right centerfield wall, Swift let out a yell of excitement and turned toward Kelce.
Kelce laughed it off as his MLB team went down 1-0.
This interaction is going viral on social media.
“The way she turned to him & he couldn’t even be mad,” one fan wrote.
“Yes girl. Celebrate the Yankees home run in front of your Cleveland born boyfriend,” another said.
“Her money’s on new york as it should be,” another added.
“WRONG TEAM TAYLOR,” another wrote.
The Yankees finished the third inning with three runs, then added another score in the fourth. The Guardians got on the board in the top of the sixth with a solo home run from shortstop Brayan Rocchio.
The Yankees lead 4-1.
