After his Mamba League stint, Bryce James played against some of the best high school talents recognized by the NBA this week. The youngest son of LeBron James repped the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers while squaring off against the NBA Academy in the Avance L’Attitude Basketball Classic in San Diego.
While the exact stats from the game are unavailable, Ballislife covered the game as James scored several buckets, blocked a shot, spotted up, went ISO ball, and dished dimes to help his team to the blowout win.
“Bryce James did a little bit of everything in Sierra Canyon’s 22 point win against NBA Academy 😤 🎥 @joshwithdashot @zaytookthese,” the post read.
Being linked to the James household, his highlights automatically invited plenty of reactions from fans:
“11 points 1 assist 1 block like bro why are we posting mid plays no offense,” a fan wrote.
“Def not better then bronny wen he was a senior,” another fan wrote.
“These teams of kids who are the kids of wealthy people never impress me. These kids skills rarely translate with better competition because they don’t have dog 🐶 n them. Bryce is good but he has to develop the killer instinct to reach the next level or he will get bullied,” another fan commented.
Nevertheless, a few fans also saw Bryce’s potential amid the brief highlight clip:
“I feel like Bryce gonna be better than bronny watch just like melo better than lonzo 💯,” a fan wrote.
“He gonna be the one😂💪🏾💯. Skillset already at a NBA level. Same with Bronny. Y’all talking about statline but I’m pretty sure it’s 3 or 4; 4 or 5 Top 100 players in their classes on that team. On a team by himself he’ll play winning basketball. That doesn’t always equate to a crazy stat line,” another fan wrote.
“He literally did a little bit of everything,” another fan commented.
LeBron James also commented on Bryce James’ highlight reel
Even though LeBron James did not comment on the highlight post like fans, the NBA’s all-time scoring leader reposted the mixtape on his story, albeit with a little message for the younger one.
“Keep stacking days Young [king] @_justbryce !! #JamesGang [crown emoji],” James wrote on his story.
Hours later, LeBron James shared another version of his son’s highlights, captured by SportsCenter NEXT.
