In what was a horrific moment in the Miami Dolphins Week 2 loss against the Buffalo Bills, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa went down with what was the third concussion of his NFL career.
The injury occurred after Tagovailoa lowered his head as he attempted to gain extra yards on a scramble but ended up ramming into the body of Bills safety Damar Hamlin.
The injury had many across sports worried for the former Alabama quarterback, with many people even calling for him to retire. He had made clear he will return to football, but cannot return from the IR until Week 8 at the earliest.
With talk of Tagovailoa returning, Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill appeared to poke fun at the QB in responding to a post that suggested the Dolphins draw up a designed run on his first play back from injury.
Hill’s tweet, which now has over 3 million views, said simply: “Who gone call the next play?”
While there is a possibility that Hill is referring to that play call as a fireable offense if it were to happen, which would be quite a thing to say about a coach anyway, some fans simply cannot believe Hill would joke about that because of how serious of an injury it was.
“Star WR on Twitter jokin on our starting qb…. Wow,” wrote one fan.
“team chemistry -98%,” added another.
“You didn’t have to do him like that, Ty,” chimed in another fan.
“Dolphins organization is in shambles,” commented another user.
Hill has never been shy about trolling anyone, as he sparked trade rumors recently after posting a picture of him and Patrick Mahomes, writing, “This connection was special.”
It is also worth noting that his bio on X (formerly known as Twitter) reads, “I enjoy starting s*** then leaving.”
So, it’s unclear what exactly he meant with this latest joke, but it certainly shouldn’t come as a surprise.
