𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚: Cowboys Trade Pitch Secures $22 Million Star WR Alongside CeeDee Lamb

Dallas Dubbed Top Spot for 2-Time 1,000-Yard Wideout

The Dallas Cowboys just lost Brandin Cooks for at least the next four weeks and could use a No. 2 wide receiver alongside CeeDee Lamb.

It is clear that quarterback Dak Prescott and the passing game will have to carry the Cowboys offense, if not the entire team, for most of the remainder of the season after a tumultuous 3-2 start. Dallas has struggled mightily to both run the football and stop the run over the first five weeks, and Prescott and Lamb cashed in to the tune of a combined $376 million on new contract extensions over the offseason.

That said, Prescott and Lamb can’t do it all on their own.

Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report on Wednesday, October 9, authored a trade pitch that would see Dallas make a deal for Cincinnati Bengals wideout Tee Higgins ahead of the NFL’s November 5 trade deadline.

“Higgins is a high-end No. 2 receiver who should draw a fair return, even in a market that could be flooded with receiver talent,” Knox wrote. “Dallas may have salvaged its season with a much-needed win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night, and it could use a strong complement to CeeDee Lamb on the perimeter. Brandin Cooks was recently placed on injured reserve following a knee procedure.”

Higgins requested a trade out of Cincinnati during the offseason when he and the Bengals were unable to come to terms on a contract extension.

Cincinnati responded by using the franchise tag to keep Higgins on the roster through 2024 on a $22 million salary.

Higgins registered two 1,000-yard campaigns during his first four years in the league and has amassed a total of 275 receptions for 3,866 receiving yards and 26 TDs.
