The Miami Dolphins suffered a devastating blow after quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered a concussion in Week 2. Due to Tagovailoa’s extensive history of head injuries, the Dolphins are being incredibly cautious about the 26-year-old’s possible return.
Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel gave reporters an update on the team’s starting quarterback on Oct 7. “There’s some expert consultation that he has scheduled for this week,” McDaniel said. “The final stages of protocol won’t be achieved until we bring him back off IR (injured reserve).”
With Tagovailoa out, backup quarterback Tyler Huntley is starting for the Dolphins. While Miami is on bye in Week 6, the state of Florida is bracing for the impact of Hurricane Milton, which is predicted to make landfall as early as Wednesday night.
While the Category 4 hurricane heads toward the Western coast of Florida, Tagovailoa’s wife, Annah Tagovailoa, shared a rare post on her Instagram Stories.
Annah, who quietly married Tagovailoa in 2022, shared a post from Benny Johnson, a conservative YouTuber, that reported Trump was “hosting 275 Florida lineman” at his Doral Miami resort before Hurricane Milton made landfall.
The post closed with, “My President,” which appeared to send a clear message to her 7,700 followers on Instagram as to which candidate will get her vote in the November election.
Tagovailoa and his wife rarely speak about their private life, so Annah’s post came as a surprise to many fans. While a photo went viral appearing to show the Dolphins star having a front row seat reserved at a Trump Rally in Miami in July, it was a photoshopped image. The Alabama alum did not attend the rally.
Far-right sports commentator Clay Travis, who promoted the fake image, rescinded his message and wrote, “My bad. Tua may actually be at the Marianne Williamson rally tonight. In all seriousness, he wasn’t there. But I feel confident Tua is voting for Trump because he has a functional brain.”
