The Dallas Cowboys are America’s team, which means the usual expectation is for Dak Prescott and his team to contend for a Super Bowl every year. With the offseason they had, owner Jerry Jones came under fire. Especially as he did next to nothing in reinforcing the squad that lost some key players. Long-time fan Skip Bayless asked that question again after tonight’s game against the New Orleans Saints.
The 72-year-old now former analyst caught the game as he has always done for almost six decades. After the game, he took to his official X account to give a piece of his mind.
Remember when Jerry Jones said he was all in to fix his Dallas Cowboys.....I said no I'm all out, because Jerry did next to nothing to go all in to fix this team. I just had to sit and watch my Dallas Cowboys.......rip my heart out again in a home regular season game, they won 16 of those in a row, by giving up 35 first half points tying the all-time record for giving up points at home in any kind of game.Skip Bayless said
Bayless was livid as he saw his favorite team lose at home to snap a 16-game home winning streak. That too in an embarrassing fashion.
The Dallas Cowboys gave up 35 points in the first half. That makes it the highest points the New Orleans Saints scored in the first half in their history. Superstar running back Alvin Kamara led the demolition as he scored four touchdowns.
Moreover, what makes it more appalling is that this was against the team that has one of the best defenses in the league. Skip Bayless suggests the Cowboys are not even good enough. Especially as they struggled to score in the fourth quarter against the Saints.
Saints fans lead humiliation of Jerry Jones with winning march outside of AT&T Stadium
Even if there was a doubt that Jerry Jones might not regard Skip Bayless’ words, Saints fans did their best to add on to the humiliation. After the win, a crowd of New Orleans Saints fans were recorded marching together. But as it was after the win, they used trumpets and cheers to celebrate their win. All of this happened right outside AT&T Stadium.
For Dallas Cowboys fans standing close by, it was a salt rubbing on wounds situation. Their team’s loss had already upset them. Now, with opposition fans making it loud and clear, it was nothing but added to the humiliation.
To make matters worse, last week they won against a Cleveland Browns team struggling with quarterback play. Their next game is against the still winless Baltimore Ravens. It will be worthwhile to see if they can hold their ground against a team fired up to win their first game.
