The fourth-year forward says his pups helped him through some lonely times
At the Warriors’ media day today, fourth-year guard Jonathan Kuminga told the world about his dogs — two French bulldogs who he adopted during the 2020 quarantine, named Dior and Prada.
“You couldn’t hang out with your teammates because of COVID, so I got one of them… and then that one got kind of lonely sometimes, so I had to get another one.”
So real, Jonathan. Based on my research, Dior (black and tan) came first, and Jonathan adopted Prada (gray and white) because Dior was lonely.
“Just having them around helped me so much… every time I had to go to practice or a game, coming back to them and just looking or playing with them. I love them so much.”
Kuminga continued, “I love my puppies. I could never give them up to anybody. I love having them.”
This year, Kuminga hopes to bring a second championship ring home to Dior and Prada. The soon-to-be 22-year-old forward averaged 16.1 points, 4.8 assists, and 2.2 rebounds in just over 26 minutes per game.
