Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels was taken to the locker room after an apparent rib injury — and was not pleased about it.
Washington Commanders fans, we understand why you are holding your collective breath right now.
Quarterback Jayden Daniels has been ruled questionable to return to the game against the Carolina Panthers after suffering a rib injury in the first quarter.
Daniels went to the locker room to undergo X-rays, the CBS broadcast revealed.
Daniels attempted to throw the ball on the sideline but ended up leaving for the locker room, slamming his helmet on the ground on his way.
Before leaving, the 2024 No. 2 overall pick was 2-of-2 passing for 6 yards and had three carries for 50 yards. On the first play of the day, Daniels had a 47-yard run that covered the spread.
The 23-year-old rookie has been dazzling so far this season for the Commanders. Last season’s Heisman Trophy winner, the LSU product entered Sunday’s game with 1,404 yards, six touchdowns, and just two interceptions. Before last week’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens, he had the Commanders on a four-game winning streak and the franchise faithful were ecstatic and hopeful for the first time in a long time. In every game but the first of the season, Daniels has thrown for at least 230 yards and made rookie history on a “Monday Night Football” matchup.
Even without Daniels, the Commanders built up a sizeable lead on the Panthers so he likely wouldn’t come back in if fine.
Daniels’ mother did take to social media to ease some worry for fans.
