‘The Finger!’ Inside Dak Prescott’s Friendly Jabs for Cowboys vs. Saints

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is in a confident mood after the 33-17 Week 1 win over the Cleveland Browns, and attention now turns to the New Orleans Saints At AT&T Stadium.

But this won’t be a “regular” matchup for Dak.

Being a Louisiana native, playing against the Saints and doing well holds a little more weight for No. 4, especially when friends of Prescott have already started the verbal jousting in the lead-up to Sunday’s game.

Dallas’ quarterback has already received text messages from some of his friends, one of which said, “I’ll be there. I’ll be in the end zone,” according to Dak.

Prescott, of course, replied in kind.

“I’ve just kind of sent them an emoji and said Go Cowboys,” Prescott added. “They’ve fired back with ‘Who Dat?’ I wrote back, ‘Who Dak?’ Good playful stuff back and forth.”

And what was the emoji that Dallas’ new $60 million quarterback sent back?

“The finger,” Dak said.

So that is just another playful layer we can add to the Cowboys’ clash against the Saints, who themselves will be in a confident mood after their 47-10 beatdown of the Carolina Panthers.

New Orleans has a decent record against the Cowboys lately, going 6-4 in their last 10 outings, but Dallas has won two out of the last three.

With friends and family in the stands for Sunday, Prescott, who was already in a good frame of mind after Week 1, might get a little boost of motivation to put on a show in Dallas’ home opener against New Orleans.

And in doing so, giving a friendly “finger” to his friends in attendance, but also those who continue to doubt him as a consensus top quarterback in the NFL.
