Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery blurred past Dallas Cowboys star cornerback Trevon Diggs without much of an effort.

The Dallas Cowboys have never had a home game just like the one against the Detroit Lions in the entire time the franchise has had Jerry Jones as the owner. To make it worse, it was on his 82nd birthday as he watched in disbelief from his suite at the AT&T Stadium. As fans and analysts dive deep into figuring out what went wrong, one clipping of superstar cornerback Trevon Diggs has caught the eye.
The play occurred in the third quarter when the Detroit Lions resorted to David Montgomery to further wear down the Cowboys’ defense. On one such run towards the end zone, he cut back to his left to avoid a tackle. But that brought him square with Trevon Diggs.
Despite a couple of hesitation moves, the fifth-year corner kept his sight on the running back. But all it took was a slight swipe from the recently extended halfback to throw Diggs off balance as he continued running.
But even then, the way he approached the tackle showed that he did not do enough to bring down the 234lb running back. With his team already on the backburner, that missed tackled helped David Montgomery gain nineteen yards until DT Linval Joseph brought him down. Had Diggs tried a bit harder, the Cowboys could have stopped him a few yards shorter.

That 19-yard run gave the Detroit Lions a 1st and goal. Showing that they did not want to stop even if they were up more than three full scores. But it showed that Trevon Diggs was either done for the night, or just lost his motivation to play. Either way, it was an additionally bad look on the once vaunted Dallas Cowboys defense.
