Jones, who died at the age of 40 earlier this year in New Orleans, played nine NFL seasons with five teams as both a wide receiver and a kick return specialist.\u00a0According to TMZ, hypertensive cardiovascular disease \u2013 heart disease caused by long-term high blood pressure \u2013\u00a0 was listed as the cause of death by the medical examiner.<\/p>\n

Jones helped lead the Ravens to victory in Super Bowl LVII, scoring three touchdowns highlighted by a 108-yard kickoff return.<\/p>\n

Jones went to Lane College before becoming a third-round pick in the 2007 NFL Draft. He played five seasons with the\u00a0Houston Texans\u00a0<\/b>and had stints with the\u00a0Los Angeles Chargers<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0Pittsburgh Steelers<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Jones’s mother and son stood on the 12-yard line to pay homage to his number with the Ravens as the duo got a standing ovation. Former Ravens teammates of his took to the field to hug the family members while “See You Again” by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth played.<\/p>\n
