Chelsea received \u00a3146m in the first year of their new ownership model.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-7\"><\/div>\n<p>Brighton\u2019s Tony Bloom has put \u00a3373m into the Seagulls, while Everton, who are subject to a takeover from The Friedkin Group, have the highest shareholder loans at \u00a3451m.<\/p>\n<p>That has been loaned at low or even zero interest and will almost certainly now need recalculating.<\/p>\n<p>Former Master of the Rolls \u2014 the country\u2019s second most senior lawyer \u2014 Lord Dyson and two fellow judges agreed the rule preventing City from responding to the Prem over \u201cFair Market Value\u201d of two proposed deals was \u201cprocedurally unfair\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>But a number of City\u2019s other claims against Prem rules \u201cfailed\u201d, including that the League wrongly applied its regulations.<\/p>\n<p>On behalf of the Prem, representatives from Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool, Brentford, West Ham, Fulham, Wolves, and Bournemouth provided testimony.<\/p>\n<p>All of this has resulted in even more pronounced battle lines; the investigation into City\u2019s purported 115 financial infractions is still ongoing.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazy loaded\" src=\"https:\/\/e1.365dm.com\/23\/02\/master\/skysports-man-city-back-pages_6049019.jpg\" alt=\"Man City charged by the Premier League: Media reactions after unprecedented charges levelled against league champions | Football News | Sky Sports\" data-src=\"https:\/\/e1.365dm.com\/23\/02\/master\/skysports-man-city-back-pages_6049019.jpg\" data-was-processed=\"true\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Following a meeting in February where Prem clubs voted in favor of stricter standards, City initiated legal action.<\/p>\n<p>The club said yesterday: \u201cThe Tribunal found both the original APT rules and the current (amended) APT Rules violate UK competition law and procedural fairness\u2009.\u2009.\u2009.\u2009\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Premier League was specifically unfair in how it applied those rules to the Club in practice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey deliberately excluded shareholder loans while the Premier League reached decisions in a procedurally unfair manner.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazy loaded\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/DYQOg2BXcAAGJC1?format=jpg&amp;name=4096x4096\" alt=\"Manchester City tr\u00ean X: &quot;Pep Guardiola meets Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed with Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak. #mancity https:\/\/t.co\/eBaC0kk6Dw&quot; \/ X\" data-src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/DYQOg2BXcAAGJC1?format=jpg&amp;name=4096x4096\" data-was-processed=\"true\" \/><\/p>\n<p>City\u2019s case centred on two sponsorship proposals, with First Abu Dhabi Bank and Etihad Aviation Group.<\/p>\n<p>But while the Arbitration Tribunal \u2014 which heard evidence in June \u2014 did side with City on some matters, League bosses claimed THEY had won.<\/p>\n<p>A Prem spokesman said: \u201cManchester City brought a wholesale challenge to the APT Rules.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe club was unsuccessful in the majority of its challenge.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSignificantly, the Tribunal determined the APT Rules are necessary.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt rejected Manchester City\u2019s argument that APT Rules were to discriminate against clubs with ownership from the \u2018Gulf region\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cExcept in two respects, it found that Manchester City\u2019s arguments were unfounded.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But League chiefs believe they need only make minor changes \u2014 and new rules will be tabled for club chiefs to vote on as soon as next week.<\/p>\n<p>The spokesman added: \u201cIn the meantime, the Premier League will operate the existing APT system, taking into account the findings made by the Tribunal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MANCHESTER CITY\u2019S legal brawl with the Prem is set to drag rivals, including Arsenal and Chelsea, into the fight.
