Patrick Mahomes<\/span>\u00a0and wife Brittany were among the stars who descended on Kansas City for teammate and close friend\u00a0Travis Kelce<\/span>‘s charity event Saturday – but the quarterback’s attention was seemingly elsewhere.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Chiefs star showed his support\u00a0<\/span>for his teammate’s Kelce Car Jam and celebrated\u00a0his 35th birthday<\/span>\u00a0over the weekend.<\/p>\n

But Mahomes had another cause to root for during the charity event Saturday evening.<\/p>\n

The Kansas City\u00a0Royals<\/span>\u00a0kicked off their ALDS series against the\u00a0New York Yankees<\/span>\u00a0as playoff baseball returned to the Bronx.<\/p>\n

And Kelce revealed that Mahomes, a big fan of the Royals, was anxiously watching their fellow Kansas City sports team during the charity event.<\/p>\n

Mahomes and wife Brittany attended the event to show support for the Kelce Car Jam<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

‘We’ve got Pat Mahomes back there somewhere,’\u00a0Kelce said\u00a0from the stage. ‘He’s glued to his Royals right now.’<\/p>\n

While\u00a0Kelce’s event\u00a0<\/span>was a success, the same couldn’t be said for the Royals. In a tight, dramatic thriller in New York, Kansas City slipped to a 6-5 defeat in the opening game of the series.<\/p>\n

Game 2 will be played in the Bronx on Monday night when Bobby Witt Jr. and co. will hope to tie the series before heading back to Kansas City.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, proceeds from the charity block party are going to Kelce\u2019s 87 & Running Foundation which raises funds for children in Kansas City and Cleveland.<\/p>\n

Patrick and Brittany were there to show their support at the second annual Kelce Car Jam, a showcase of swish cars belonging to the Chiefs star and his friends.<\/p>\n

The Chiefs quarterback is close friends with his tight end, while Brittany has formed a tight bond with Kelce’s girlfriend\u00a0Taylor Swift<\/a><\/span>\u00a0over the past year.<\/p>\n

The couple were greeted by dozens of fans as they arrived at the charity event in\u00a0Kansas<\/span>\u00a0City.<\/p>\n

Kelce and Mahomes will return to the field on Monday, when the Chiefs take on the New Orleans Saints at Arrowhead Stadium.<\/p>\n

It will be the first time Jason Kelce has called a game involving his younger brother since the former Eagles center joined ESPN as an NFL analyst.<\/p>\n

Jason and his parents, Donna and Ed Kelce, arrived<\/span>\u00a0at the charity event shortly before Mahomes.\u00a0Kansas City defensive end\u00a0George Karlaftis was also spotted at Kelce Car Jam.<\/p>\n

Patrick and Brittany Mahomes arrived in a black Ferrari but Kelce planned to show off the\u00a01970 Chevrolet Chevelle that he famously drove Swift around Kansas City in last year.<\/p>\n

‘This year is the second year we’ve done a car show, basically a block-party style event, that will showcase some of the city’s top automobiles from the Fuel House, a fun car club out here,’ Kelce said.<\/p>\n

‘And then I guess a bunch of others that are lined up. It’s gonna be fun. I should have my old school ’70 Chevelle all revved up and ready to rock and roll. If not, I’ll bring one of the other cars that I have.’<\/p>\n
