Gerrit Cole Struggles on the Mound<\/h3>\n
The Yankees featured ace\u00a0Gerrit Cole<\/strong>\u00a0to start the series, but he struggled with his command and confidence. Over five innings, Cole gave up three earned runs on seven hits, striking out just four batters. After tossing 80 pitches, manager\u00a0Aaron Boone<\/strong>\u00a0decided to pull him from the game, turning to lefty\u00a0Tim Hill<\/strong>. On offense, the Yankees tallied nine hits, with 11 strikeouts and an impressive eight walks.\u00a0Gleyber Torres<\/strong>\u00a0contributed a hit and two RBIs while walking twice.\u00a0Juan Soto<\/strong>\u00a0was a standout with three hits, and rookie catcher\u00a0Austin Wells<\/strong>\u00a0added a hit, two RBIs, and two walks.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, Judge is known for his ability to get hot at any moment, and fans will be hoping he bounces back in Game 2.<\/p>\n
Looking Ahead to Game 2: Rodon vs. Ragans<\/h3>\n
The Yankees will send\u00a0Carlos Rodon<\/strong>\u00a0to the mound for Game 2, where he\u2019ll face off against\u00a0Cole Ragans<\/strong>. Rodon finished the regular season with a 3.96 ERA, while Ragans posted a 3.14 ERA, marking him as one of the top lefty starters in baseball this year.
